What exactly are the Adventure Rooms?
The Adventure Rooms are “real life escape games” for groups. The basic idea is that the team must solve a variety of puzzles in order to “break free” from a room containing locked doors before a 60 minute countdown reaches zero. To do so, they have to use not brute force, but skill and cunning.
This is a fun and challenging game that requires searching for clues, codes, keys and using objects in strange ways.
Our games are meant to be challenging. Only about 20% of all teams manage to escape. Even unsuccessful teams find the challenge to be rewarding and a great adventure!
How much does it cost?
- 2 players for $26 each + tax
- 3-14 players $22.12 each + tax
- 15 + players $21.24 each + tax
All bookings are private experiences for your guests only!

How can I pay?
All appointments require either an online deposit, or payment in full, via Debit Card, Credit Card or Paypal at the time of booking. This includes Corporate Credit Cards.
At your appointment we can accept Cash, Credit Card and Interac Debit Payments for your remaining balance. For school groups, a cheque made out to Adventure Rooms Canada Inc. is acceptable, however an online deposit is required to secure the booking.
Which time slots are still free?
Please refer to our always accurate online calendar found under Book Now for all available spots.
Please note that we generally do not have cancellations, unless due to weather, very last minute.
Can I have a morning appointment / Can you open early?
For large school groups and corporate groups we may have the ability to open early with advanced special requests sent to email@example.com – subject to group size, availability and staffing requirements.
Can’t I just come by spontaneously?
Unfortunately not, reservations are required. Please refer to our booking calendar for up-to-date availability.
Do you sell Gift Certificates?
Yes! Gift Certificates can be purchased on our website via our Booking Page. Information can be found here: www.adventurerooms.ca/giftcertificates.
How can I make a booking?
All bookings must be made online. All bookings are private bookings and you will only play with the people that you bring to your appointment. Please use our online booking calendar here: Book Now.

I’m having trouble with my booking?
Paypal troubleshooting: Our payments are processed via Paypal and/or Stripe and we are unable to specifically troubleshoot that part with you, however you may wish to try any of the following options:
- use only your name, email and phone number when booking
- or by using a Visa Debit, or other credit card
- or logging into your Paypal account if you have one
- Please attempt to make payment via Stripe if Paypal does not work for you
What is your refund/cancellation policy?
Cancellation Policy: As this activity is a live, scheduled event, we are unable to refund bookings upon cancellation or no-show once your booking is confirmed. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for all reschedule requests, otherwise your deposit will be kept. Bookings on file awaiting rescheduling do not expire. Please be advised that you will be required to provide final numbers 24 hours in advance in the case of lower numbers, not requiring multiple games (as booked), to avoid per game cancellation charges or being billed for players who do not arrive.
Weather Policy: The standard cancellation policy applies to all bookings, including winter conditions. In the case of extreme weather, with an official online weather warning that recommends against travel, we reserve the right to make the final decision on reschedules.
I need to cancel, modify or reschedule my booking, what do I do?
Please see the instructions on your original booking confirmation email from Adventure Rooms Canada (near the bottom of the email) This option is only available 24 hours prior to your appointment time. Please be advised that you will be required to provide final numbers 24 hours in advance in the case of lower numbers, not requiring multiple games (as booked), in order to avoid per game cancellation charges or being billed for players who do not arrive.
We recommend that children are 8 years of age or older to play without adults in the room, however younger children may play with their families. Regular price applies to all participants aged 6 years and up. Ages 5 and under are free.
Should I bring anything?
We recommend that you bring eyeglasses if required, as some items may be smaller or further away and require reading. We also appreciate indoor shoes during the winter months, in order to keep our games clean, safe and dry for all participants. We also have complimentary slippers available for your use with socked or stocking feet. 🙂
Game Specific Questions:
What is the maximum number of participants?
- We can accommodate up to 7 players per team for our standard games.
- It is advised that groups of 8-14 persons book a duel competition.
- If you have more than 14 players, we suggest that you book our tournament format for up to 21 players. You can work for bragging rights – which team can get the furthest, or escape the fastest!
- If you have more than 21 players, please book simultaneous duel/tournament adventures in our applicable duel/tournament-capable games. Please only send players for each appointment time to our facility at one time. Our absolute, in-house maximum per game is 24 players. The Alternate Adventure has a maximum of 8.
- In Kitchener, we can accommodate up to 70 players by booking all tournaments and games simultaneously.
- In Niagara Falls, we can accommodate up to 42 players by booking all tournaments simultaneously.
- Please be advised that you will be required to provide final numbers 24 hours in advance in the case of lower numbers, not requiring multiple games, to avoid per game cancellation charges or being billed for players who do not arrive.
Can I play the Adventure Rooms alone?
We are afraid not. However, if you email us your interest, we can set up a pool of individual players that can all play together when your schedules allow. We also host meetup.com Solo Player Events in both cities. Join our groups for event dates!
What a great way to meet new people!
I am unsure how many players I will be bringing / Can I book an odd-numbered duel?
This is no problem as long as the maximum number of participants is not exceeded for your game style.
We recommend that you book the minimum number of players that you expect to attend in each game style. Example for 4-6 guests, please book for 4 people if you are unsure of the total number. If you expect more than 15 players, please always book a tournament.

What is the duration of the game / How does my game style work? (Standard/Duel/Tournament)
With the standard booking you have 60 minutes to escape. The introduction will take about 10 minutes and after the game we will have some time to chat, take a picture of the group and say good-bye. You can count on exiting the Adventure Rooms at the latest 90 minutes after your booked time begins.
The duel format consists of two rounds of 30 min each, where both teams compete at the same time. There is a half-time break of about 10 min, an introduction and a ‘debriefing’ of about 10 min each. Usually the team competition is finished within about two hours.
Our tournaments consist of 3 x 30 min game play rounds where 2 teams compete at a time, with a 3rd rotating out each round while enjoying our other available board games in reception. Introduction, debriefing and 2 x 10 min reset breaks are included, for a total required appointment time of up to 2.5 hours.
The goal of a duel or tournament: Team A begins its adventure at another point in the game from Team B. Each team competes in their section for 30 minutes to see how far they can get. After a reset break, the roles are reversed. This continues until all teams have played 2 rounds. The team that escapes each round the fastest, or solves the most puzzles, WINS!
What’s the difference between your 6 games? What are the themes/storylines?
Our games are unrelated, self-contained challenges. They are fairly equal in terms of levels of difficulty and fun. They are all equally suitable for all ages and groups. All games are booked using separate booking calendars with differing availability on our booking page. They are not required to do in any particular sequence.
Our games are unique in the genre (escape room games) because they focus on puzzles and experiments with real objects, rather than being based on a specific theme or story.
How often do you change the games/puzzles?
Our games are built to be permanent. We do not modify or change the existing adventures that we have; rather we build completely new adventures with new names. If you have played one of our games before, that game will be exactly the same in the future as long as it has the same name.
If you are wishing to return to complete the same adventure that you did not “escape” from before, you will start that adventure again from the beginning. If you wish to experience a brand new adventure with us, please select an adventure with a different name than the ones you have previously played to have a different experience.
Is it possible to adjust and personalize the rooms?
Yes, it is possible to hide presents in the room, which will be found during the adventure by the person celebrating the birthday, special occasion or wedding.
Just let us know at the time of booking if you wish to use this option. All items must be received at least one hour prior to your appointment on the day of, to place during set up.
Where exactly can I find the Adventure Rooms?
Kitchener: Ground floor at 283 Duke Street West, Kitchener, ON Unit #102. Please use the building’s main glass entrance off Duke St. W. We are the first big red door on the right inside the main lobby. Advance Reservations are required.
Niagara Falls: 4541 Queen St. Please use the front entrance. Advance Reservations are required. The doors are locked between and during appointments. We strive to make reception available to you 5 minutes prior to your game time. We recommend you arrive between 5 minutes early and right on time for your appointment.
When should I arrive for my appointment?
We are pleased to offer a large and comfortable lobby filled with free board games and refreshments – we recommend to arrive with time to get settled before your appointment.
Ideally you will arrive within just 5 minutes of your scheduled appointment time, there is no need to arrive “early”, unless you wish to play our board games 😉
Please do not be late: To avoid a long waiting time for the following group, we may have to reduce the game time if your group appears more than 10 min after your booked start time.
Your booking will be cancelled without refund after 30 minutes of scheduled start time.
Can I park at Adventure Rooms?
Yes! In Kitchener, we have spots immediately beside our building around back by the train tracks, as well as at the end of the building towards Waterloo St. There is also a large parking lot off Breithaupt St in front of our building. 2 hour street parking can be found on Breithaupt St.
In Niagara Falls, we have spots directly behind our building in a municipal lot, as well as 90 min FREE street parking available on weekdays before 5 pm. Free also on evenings and weekends. Whoo hoo!
Which kind of events can take place at Adventure Rooms?
Birthdays, Anniversaries, Stagettes, Bachelor Parties, Date Night, Student Learning, Corporate Team-Building and more.
Do you have a Party Room, Meeting Room, or can I bring food?
Our facilities include a lounge-style reception where players can enjoy a quick snack or finger foods if you choose to bring some for your event. You will have about 10 minutes before the game to enjoy while choosing your team name. We also have free board games while you wait, if you choose to come early.
In Kitchener, we also have a rentable party room that can be booked in 30 minute increments at the time of booking. Please select the number of time slots you wish to add to your booking. $15/half hour + HST.
In Niagara, we do not have a party room or food available on site. Many teams celebrate dinner offsite before or after attending the Adventure Rooms for special occasions.
This game is not physically strenuous, however it does involve light walking, standing, bending and searching. Please wear whatever you feel comfortable completing these activities in. We would recommend flat shoes / indoor shoes where possible.
Suitable for pregnant women, those with health conditions, wheelchair-bound, or for people on crutches?
Yes, this game is not physically strenuous, however it does involve light walking, standing, bending and searching. There are no horror or scary elements to the game. We can accommodate special needs such as no music, and participants who are visually or hearing challenged.
Kitchener: Our building has an alternate entrance on the side that has no steps required to enter, which is easiest to access. The main entrance has 3 steps. Our lobby is accessible.
The Original and Alternate adventures are set with 32″ and 36″ doors. These games are on the main floor. Most spaces within those games are accessible, except for a small cubby – but this does not interfere with gameplay.
The Mayor’s Office is on the 2nd floor, however with the slope of the building, can be accessible via a staircase in the back loading dock – however this has approximately 8 steps and isn’t recommended, unless the group is able to carry the participant. (which we have had happen with diehard fans, so do mention the option)
The Vault is about 75% accessible.
Niagara Falls: Our building has open accessibility to our lobby. Both games have small portions that are not accessible. The Missing Finger is about 75% accessible and The Collector is about 80% accessible, however this game would still allow the team to be together, whereas in The Missing Finger that 25% would separate the team.
Can I bring an infant to the game?
Certainly. We recommend either a baby carrier seat or swaddle carrier. Please be advised that there is moderate volumed music playing in the game. There is no charge for the infant unless they end up being the mastermind behind the team’s puzzle solving and escape 😉
We have found that once participants understand that it is generally a well-lit, decent sized space that is continuously monitored by us, they feel quite comfortable playing. When a team is inside the game, everyone is so focused on enjoying the experience and solving puzzles, they tend to forget they are locked in. We have yet to have any issues in almost 4 years of operation.
